The active outdoor recreation industry today generates enormous economic power; driving the tourism industry and fueling a far-reaching ripple effect that touches many of our major economic sectors. It contributes over $70 Billion annually to the Canadian economy.

The future of our natural resources, rural communities and support industries is highly dependent upon a renew interest in domestic adventures. TecVana, an innovative marketing stimulus program, is expected to quickly reach over 5 million members to:

  • Engage and motivate our youth market to get involved in recreational outdoor activities.
  • Establish a “user-created” rural geo-tourism adventure projected to drive over 2.0 Million tourists from urban centers to rural communities across Canada in 5 years (another 2.7 Million from US market).
  • Significantly grow the recreational fishing industry delivering an incremental $9.0 Billion back to the Ontario economy annually by year 5, $20.0 Billion back to the Canadian economy.
  • Redefine the outdoor industry delivering $126 Billion over 5 years to the Canadian economy.
  • Drive meaningful social change, rural economic development and assist Aboriginal communities to become connected to mainstream markets.
  • Create new jobs for youth involved in TecVana – game development, community outreach, service support.
  • An incremental 13,400 new “destination” tourist from urban communities to rural Ontario in the first year, growing to an annual increase in tourism of 787,200 by year five.
  • A potential to drive an additional 1,899,000 urban “destination” tourist to rural markets across Canada and bring into Canada 2,671,000 US cross border tourist to non-urban communities within five years.
  • The percent of the population involved in recreational fishing alone would grow from the current 6.2% to 22.5% generating an additional $306 Million in the first year, growing to $2.1 Billion annually by Year 5.
  • The incremental impact on retail is projected to be $125.0 Million annually.
