Doug Matatall – Founding President
Doug is the founding President and Chief Executive Officer of TecVana Corporation Inc. and former President and Founder of iPhoenix Corporation Inc. a marketing consulting firm specializing in innovative consumer-centric business solutions for eGovernment transformation and private industry seeking to improve performance by redefining customer experience. As President of Matatall Holding Inc (MHI), he is currently working for the Government of Trinidad and Tobago developing their 5 year marketing plan and business model to help the country achieve a “developed nation” status by the year 2020. This forward thinking government realizes that Information Communication Technology is the backbone to its future and that marketing is the driver to achieving its vision of being ranked as one of the top 10 nations in the World Economic Forum’s Network Readiness Indicators (NRI). Doug has over 35 years in marketing with an extensive background in economic evaluations, business models, feasibility and financial analysis, retailing, revenue stimulation, incentive & motivation planning, sales and major account support. In his role as Senior Marketing Director for Nortel Networks, Doug specialized in the field of channel management, public access and self-serve technology supporting such international clients as Sprint, Disney, United States Postal Service, Alma Airlines (Mexico), and others to effectively and efficiently make the right decisions for profitable public self-serve technology solutions. Doug has written many articles on the Digital Divide and his Road Map to Performance Based Government was published by the International Engineer Consortium, 2004. In addition, Doug has worked with the Ivey School of Business with many unique and challenging case studies, the most recent being work on Rural Economic Development through centralized community collaboration and access. Doug is also very active in volunteering and working with Aboriginal leaders (Adam Beach) and University of Toronto seeking innovative alternatives to dealing with Aboriginal Youth-At-Risk. Doug’s passion for the outdoors, the environment and his concern over the impact that the declining interest in recreational outdoor activities amongst our youth is having on our rural communities led to the development of the TecVana model.
